Guns in church. Come back to the middle.

TheCabin.net ·· Should churches be limited to spiritual warfare? 02/14/09.

We love to go to extremes in our society.  We act as human pendulums.  Recently the Arkansas legistlature made it legal to carry concealed weapons into churches.  Although I believe that congregations should have the right to decide what they will and will not allow in there houses of worship, the driving force behind this is about recent church shootings.  It has become another “must have because the forces of evil want to destroy all that is good and wholesome argument.”

Like Arsenio Hall, there are some things that make you go, hmmm.

Isn’t it funny that the people who feel that at any moment President Obama and the flaming liberals will rise up and try to take their God given rights away with their socialist, Marxist  agenda are mostly afraid of a person who felt that at any moment President Obama and the flaming liberals will rise up and try to take their God given rights away with their socialist, Marxist  agenda?  This is part of Jim David Adkkison’s reason for shooting up a church in Tennessee.    Read the excerpt from the shooter’s diary in the link.

Second, what good is a concealed weapon if you get shot in the back of the head?  The pews in church face the front.  You enter from the back.

Thirdly, have we considered the economic impact that this perception could have?  We always focus on crime as a deterrent for economic development and drawing businesses.  Well, the press that Arkansas is getting plus the fact that we are often lampooned as backwards, country and ignorant is  now portraying our state with a “wild west” mentality.  Would you consider moving your family here for this?

How about we go and put on our India Arie CD, Acoustic Soul and listen to “Come Back To The Middle”.
