Microsoft wants to buy Yahoo. Watch your debit card transactions. Your bank may be giving you an overdraft loan which is very short term loan with a very high interest rate also know as “Overdraft Protections” . The Minority Serving Institute Bill has been resurrected and making its way through Congress again. HR 694 passes the House and goes on to the Senate as S 1650

The FCC rules against Cable!!, Courts rule that schools and corporations must keep all emails!

The FCC releases a scathing report on the cable industry. The FCC does an end-run around Congress and opens the door for the telcos to implement IPTV in local markets with no build-out restrictions. The courts have ruled that schools, corporations and certain organizations must keep emails in the event that they are needed for legal proceedings.

This podcast is late due to technical problems earlier this month. This was originally produced 12/6/06. I discussed the Wii as the system to beat. I disagree with a study at HBCU Lever over Google Page Rankings & HBCU’s. I tell you how Google really works, and why minority websites should use RSS, Blogs and Podcast. The US Automakers blame the Yen for their problems, but I show a GAO report from about 14 years ago when they had the same problem, and they were concerned about the Japanese. The report shows that US Automakers have a problem managing.

We need to get out and vote. The Minority Serving Institute Digital and Wireless Bill of 2005 is still stuck in the Education and Workforce Committee in the House since last year. It allocates $250 million for HBCU’s for technology upgrades and programs between 2006-2010. The House majority has failed to move the bill any further. We need to get TV One in order to see “Our World with Black Enterprise”; a lot of affiliates carry the show at 3 & 4 in the morning!

It looks like Microsoft and Apple will go at it again in the battle of the media players wars that may heat up after Zune comes to market. Zune has a secret weapon that no one is talking about. Ed Gordon is no longer the host of NPR’s News & Notes which is NPR’s African American News show and podcast. Congratulations to Farai Chideya, the new host of News & Notes. This slot was once held by Tavis Smiley’s show, but he left after conflicts with NPR, and it looks like Ed has left for similar reasons. Mr. Gordon has a new tv show with Black Enterprise Magazine called “Our World” premiering on Sept. 30. Why can’t African American journalist get the respect they deserve in the media game? They are still no African Americans appearing in the Sunday Morning talk shows.

building out fiber across the country, the cable industry has its hopes on DOCSIS 3.0 which can bring 100Mbs+ speeds

bi-directionally. When the music stops, who going to be left without a chair? Newsbites- Xbox murders, public

schools are doing as well as private schools.
